The lower you get in times, the effort required to shave tenths off a time goes up exponentially. Factor in tons of variables that affect how the car performs and even a gigantic turbo/trans brake doesn't necessarily mean the car would be a half second quicker or anything near it. The tune, weather, elevation, weight, suspension, alignment, rolling resistance and a dozen other things matter at these levels, as you're going to find out with your next build Oct (I hear it's going to be nuts!) =) We'll never really know for sure but hopefully his next time around he'll be more open to record his track time and tactics. Anyway, this is why you'll see cars with smaller turbos hang with huge turbo builds. The devil is in the details, especially at 9-seconds.
